X-Plane 9.41 b3
X-Plane is a realistic and colorful flight simulation game from Laminar Research. It supports 3D terrain and elevation maps, and it includes a powerful physics modeler to simulate various weather conditions, such as rain, thunderstorms, wind shear, turbulence and thermals. The demo version includes scenery for southern California and limits gameplay to five minutes per game.

| Beta 17, This major release pushes a lot of work onto the video card and so the performance has become more a driver issue than in previous releases. In a move that some will find really dumb, PPC and Intel machines cannot be networked together. On balance this major release will drag x-plane into the future, but it is far from Final release, even in x-plane terms. New ways to build custom instruments and controls, pretty new water, try the demo before you buy. |

| This is the first public beta of the next major version of X-Plane. It may be a while before it is a full release. DVDs are already on sale. N.B. your old X-plane 8 DVD will not work as a copyright key, so you will only get 10 minutes of Demo time. Don't download unless you like playing with prerelease software. |
