Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 Patch is an unofficial patch created by Andrew Meggs. It should fix problems when using the chainsword and other various sound problems. To use this patch, place it in the Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 folder in place of the main application.
• Redesigned MP3 decompression buffers for much better speed and stability.
• Sound mixing performance has been improved.
• Increased sound mixahead to reduce sound skipping, especially on low-end machines.
• Increased free memory requirements to improve stability during level loading and eliminate texture white-out. You may need to increase your computer\'s virtual memory.
Classic Only
• Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2
• Mac OS 8.6 or higher
• G3 or higher
• Rage Pro or better
• 64 MB RAM
This game wasn't even playable on my iMac DV 400 until I installed this patch and I've had the game since Christmas of 2000. Now, I'm finally able to play it. I guess this patch has been out for awhile according to Inside Mac Games.

I played this game wiht little trouble except for annoying looping sounds occassionally. Also noted was whiteout of textures after a while.

This cleans up the game except for the 3dfx bugs for me. The rest are really small things. Fixed sound makes a larger difference than I thought...wow. This is probably what the game should have shipped as since all the major bugs were so obvious anyone would have caught them, but better late than never. Thanks to Mr. Meggs for fixing this for us!

Doesn't fix all of the bugs present in FAKK2, but it is definately a worth while update that everyone who owns this game should have.
