| On OS X the game pauses for a long time in Aug and Feb months, plus in the scenarios after a point you just cannot progress any further and thus win! I was $500 away from winning one scenario and had a full year left, and of course NOTHING MOVED for the entire year costing me the win. Game makers: The point is to WIN the game, not be beaten down at every turn! |

| The concept of the game is fun, however, play becomes impossible when you have more people on your island. When you reach a certain point in the game, you can't tell if some of the things the game does are play atributes, or bugs. For example, the workers just don't build anything sometimes. |

| Overall really tough to rate.
Tropico as a game I would give a 5 - I have thoroughly enjoyed it since I purchased it at least a year ago..
But Tropico on OS X rates a 1 (if that). PopTop has ported it to OS X, and the port performs dismally. It is barely playable at all, and the more people on your island, the more unplayable it becomes. At 150 it is unbearable. At 300 it literally takes 10 - 15 seconds for each frame - completely unplayable.
This is an issue with the code, NOT the OS or my comp. I have a dual 500 with an OEM radeon + 1 gig of RAM - every other game on OS X |
